This mall opened its doors in 2005, in the eastern part of Funchal, specifically on the bustling and touristy Estrada Monumental.

It’s got 60+ stores, including clothing shops, shoe stores, hair salons, a pharmacy, restaurants, a Pingo Doce supermarket, and a cinema with six screens.

Even though it’s partially covered, you’ll still feel like you’re in an open space when you’re inside.

Madeira’s got some fantastic food options, and they’re even better when you pair them with the panoramic terraces and gardens: which offer stunning ocean and mountain views.

The Forum Madeira also hosts events like wine festivals, concerts, and conferences that showcase Madeira’s culture to the world.

Opening Hours

Every day from 10:30 to 23:00

The building itself is pretty hard to miss, thanks to all the green space in the surrounding gardens, which give you a panoramic Atlantic view. And the main square is always bustling with activity.

In the summer, you can even catch a movie outdoors.

The shopping was designed with convenience in mind. The big private parking lot fits around 800 cars (free on the weekends), plus elevators and escalators to move around the different floors.

Close by, you can check out the Pico dos Barcelos Viewpoint. It offers some incredible city views. Other spots worth checking out include the Botanical Garden, the Cathedral, and the Mercado dos Lavradores.
