The initial personal impression is that it is a refuge from the world, where time has stopped and nature reigns.

The name given to the region, Jardim do Mar, alludes to the transition between the arid vertical slopes and the lush coastal landscape, once full of wildflowers. In the 18th century, this small fajã became independent of Prazeres or Paul do Mar.

Within its limits, we find the parish church dedicated to Our Lady of the Rosary, built in the 1970s. Everything is small, and in a flash, we reach the small promenade where the waves break and the breeze touches our faces.
