CR7 Museum, Cristiano Ronaldo

The CR7 Museum was inaugurated in 2013, located in the same building as the 4-star Pestana CR7 Funchal Hotel. Behind it, there is the Madeira Casino. It is a must-visit for any fan of Portuguese footballer Cristiano Ronaldo.

Price

A ticket costs €5, with admission being free for children under nine years of age.

It takes 25 minutes to view the entire museum.

However, before entering the museum, be sure to see the statue of Ronaldo. It is amusing to observe the areas where the colour statue has changed, with the hands and genital region appearing paler.

 Admission to the Cristiano Ronaldo Museum

An admission fee of five euros is required to enter the museum, which operates from ten in the morning until five in the afternoon from Monday to Friday. Hence, it is advisable not to leave it for the weekend.

The museum may appear small, yet it boasts a massive trophy room. It takes roughly half an hour to tour the museum.

Upon entering, photographs on display chronicling CR7’s career are free to view.

 

Upon entering the museum and descending the stairs, one is immediately struck by the European Football Championship trophy of 2016, the first and only European title for Portugal.

Cristiano Ronaldo also has in his awards collection four Golden Balls, five Ballon d’Or awards, and trophies from the clubs he has played for (including 5 Champions League wins).

It must be envy-inducing for many clubs…

The most intriguing aspect of the museum is its interactive section featuring augmented reality, where one can interact with a virtual representation of Cristiano Ronaldo. Yet, photography is not permitted in this area.


The final touch of the museum is the dedicated section for fan interaction, where letters, gifts, and tokens of affection from admirers are on display.

A gift shop, the CR7 Museum Store, is located near the ticket booth and offers a range of souvenirs and CR7 products, all of which are available online.

Behind the CR7 Museum lies the Casino da Madeira, one of the island’s most popular tourist destinations.
The building’s architecture is singular. We find a wide array of gaming options, perfect for a night of entertainment.

Do not miss the Madeira Botanical Garden, featuring Madeira’s endemic plants and exotics from around the world. Tickets cost €7.50 for adults, with children under six admitted for free.
