Lido Bathing Complex Location

It is in a privileged area in the city’s eastern area with various support services such as banks, shops, and restaurants.

This project by José Rafael Botelho has a capacity of 3,500 people and includes two saltwater pools, one for adults and the other for children’s slides.

Furthermore, it allows access to the sea through escalators located in various parts of the complex and has first-class bathing support infrastructure.

Opening Hours:

Every day from 9am to 7pm.

Bathing Season: June 1st to mid-September

Access is paid, constant surveillance with cameras and lifesaving devices.

Entrance Price

Adult tickets cost five euros, entrance for young people (7 to 17 years old) is €1.90 and is free for children under six.

Inside, you will have access to sunbeds (2.5 euros), umbrellas, lockers, WiFi, snack bars, tourist information centres, first aid stations, a restaurant, and a car park.

Next to the complex is Madeira’s hotel zone with banks, bars, and restaurants.

Heading west, we find the Lido Promenade and Ponta Gorda Bathing Complex.
Additionally, to the east, there is the CR7 Museum, Marina do Mar, and Santa Catarina Park.

Lido Promenade

The seafront promenade creates a perpendicular connection between the Lido area and Praia Formosa.

The views from the top of the avenue are stunning; you can see for miles in all directions. It is a great place to relax, escape the hustle and bustle and enjoy the beauty of nature.

Complexo Balnear da Ponta Gorda.

The Ponta Gorda beach complex also has 2 pools and a privileged location in the Lido Promenade.

Museu CR7

The CR7 Museum tells the story of Ronaldo’s life, from his humble beginnings in Madeira to his rise to global stardom. It features a variety of exhibitions, including his trophies, jerseys, and cleats, as well as interactive displays and videos.

Parque de Santa Catarina

The Parque de Santa Catarina is one of the largest parks in Funchal, with an extensive lawn surrounded by well-maintained flower beds that invite one to rest. Of interest are the fantastic views of Funchal Bay and the walking paths.
