By the name (Biblical Magi Beach in elighs), we anticipated an exotic locale.

The reality diverges significantly.

Instead of the glistening allure of gold, frankincense, and myrrh, one is greeted by the stark contrast of ebony sands and pebbles.

Yet, the unparalleled landscape evokes profound sentiments, stirring one’s soul with a heightened sense of vitality and an intimate connection to the world that envelops them. The boundless Atlantic stretches forth, a sublime horizon eluding the grasp of one’s gaze.

When to visit?

The Magi Beach is enjoyable throughout the year, but it’s pleasant during the warm summer months, from June to September. At this time, the inviting sea water’s temperature is around 21 degrees Celsius.

Visitors also take pleasure in sunbathing. A gentle breeze provides a refreshing and uplifting feeling.

How to get there?

To reach Magi Beach from Funchal, one can travel by car or bus.

If opting for a car, follow the VR1 motorway towards Caniço. Next, continue along the signs pointing to Caniço de Baixo and Magi Beach. The journey takes approximately 20 minutes. Upon arrival, a small, complimentary car park is available near the beach.
