The temple, rebuilt in the 17th century, exudes the Mannerist style. The festival in honour of São Pedro, the patron saint of Ponta do Pargo, is celebrated on June 29th, filling the air with joy and devotion.

The rectangular plan church boasts a square bell tower and two front-side chapels that seem to guard religious secrets.

It is adorned with a skilfully carved regional stonework portal, a rectangular stained-glass window that reflects the sunlight, and the national coat of arms, a symbol of our past.
